Collaborations that Make Sense: Iggy Azalea for Steve Madden

I’m going to try to tuck [some of] my disdain for Iggy for a moment to talk about this collab. I can make no promises…

This collaboration is great fit for Azalea and Madden, as they are both known to specialize in making unique styles accessible to the masses (read: appropriation). Iggy’s brand of hip-pop seems like the perfect fit for Steve Madden’s party girl. I imagine the shoes will be incredibly high and bold… with you know “fancy” adornments. Iggy has one of the most popular songs in the country, so I guess it’s time for her to make some coins!! I am looking forward to the visuals for this collaboration. While her talent is debatable, her beauty is undeniable. As for the shoes, and everything else to do with I-G-G-Y, I’m RSVPing “No Thanks.” (Source)

In other news, Steve Madden is becoming quite the “downtown” dominator. The company just acquired Dolce Vita last week and inked a partnership with B by Brian Atwood in March of this year.
